White Cliff Minerals Limited has confirmed a promising sediment-hosted copper discovery at its Rae Copper Project. Maiden drilling revealed extensive sulphide veining with chalcopyrite and bornite, while new land acquisitions expand exploration targets in Canada’s emerging copper district. White Cliff Minerals Limited has unveiled promising initial results from its maiden drilling program at the Rae Copper Project in Canada’s West Kitikmeot region. In drillhole STK25001, the company encountered a broad zone of sulphide mineralisation within lower Rae Group sediments, including 16 meters of chalcopyrite-bornite–bearing sedimentary mineralisation at approximately 175 meters depth and further semi-massive sulphide veining observed between 290 and 295 meters. These findings align with the hallmarks of a sediment-hosted copper system, where mineralisation is typically observed above a major unconformity and redox boundary. The discovery is underpinned by the geological control offered by the Herb Dixon Fault, a major north–south structure that the company confirms is a copper-fertile conduit. Follow-up drilling at the Stark target, a significant geophysical conductor spanning more than 15 kilometers, is underway to vector towards zones likely to host bornite and chalcocite mineralisation. The project’s exploration footprint has been further enhanced by the recent acquisition of approximately 950 square kilometers of additional mineral claims north of the current area, targeting new intersections between the fault and previously untested sedimentary packages. The technical details, which include observations of chalcopyrite replacing diagenetic pyrite and the presence of quartz-calcite veins hosting semi-massive sulphides, lend credence to the company’s thesis that the Rae Project has the potential to host a large-scale, multi-faceted copper system. Managing Director Troy Whittaker highlighted that the discovery validates the company’s strategic approach and reinforces its leadership position in this emerging copper district. Initial assay results are expected in the September quarter, which will further elucidate the grade and extent of the mineralisation. Bullish sentiment is evident among investors, as the dual presence of sediment-hosted copper and underlying sulphide veining suggests a robust mineral system that could support significant resource expansion. The strategic land package expansion and multi-target exploration program bolster the outlook, indicating wide-ranging potential in a high-priority region. On the other hand, a bearish view is tempered by the early-stage nature of the results. With assay data still pending and visual estimates carrying inherent uncertainties, there remains caution until laboratory confirmation can substantiate the promising field observations.
