Anson Resources Ltd. reports a 44% boost in lithium grades at its Green River Project after enhanced well swabbing, marking a promising step toward a resource upgrade and potentially lower processing costs—a positive signal for beginners exploring investment in lithium markets.
Anson Resources Ltd announced new assay results from its Green River Lithium Project in southeastern Utah that suggest significant potential to improve the company’s resource profile. The latest swabbing programs from the Bosydaba#1 well have yielded an average lithium concentration of 135mg/l, which is 44% higher than the 93.5mg/l figure used in the initial JORC resource estimate. These higher values are attributed to the “clean-up” of the aquifer during the extraction process, where drilling fluids were displaced by continuous brine flow. The process involves swabbing the well to extract approximately 600 barrels of brine daily, which over several days allowed higher-grade brine from more porous layers to become available.
The technical details support the improved quality of the resource; the brine, hosted in the Mississippian Leadville Limestone, is exceptionally clean with low salt and contaminant levels. Comparative analysis indicates that the Green River brine has favorable geochemical characteristics versus other U.S. brine projects, potentially easing the lithium carbonate production process. Furthermore, the Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process at the demonstration plant reported a high lithium recovery rate of 98% and impurity rejections of 99%, indicating promising operational efficiencies that may reduce future operating expenses due to lower required brine throughput and reduced disposal needs.
Looking ahead, Anson Resources plans additional exploration activities, including the re-entry of the Mt Fuel-Skyline Geyser well, scheduled flow and pump tests to investigate the hydrogeological properties of the aquifer, and further monitoring to determine the optimal reservoir extension. The strategy includes deepening the existing well, which could notably enhance the thickness of the Leadville Limestone aquifer, potentially expanding the reservoir significantly.
The recent news brings a bullish outlook with improved lithium grades that could strengthen the project’s economics and streamline lithium extraction, thereby enhancing shareholder value.
