Solis Minerals Limited has started diamond drilling at its Chancho al Palo project in Peru, uncovering promising copper-gold mineralisation. The first drill hole revealed visible chalcopyrite and gold, with assay results expected soon, potentially enhancing the company's exploration prospects for budding traders.

Solis Minerals Limited has reported encouraging early results from its diamond drilling campaign at the Chancho al Palo prospect in Peru, an area previously unexplored but geologically promising. The company’s first drill hole, completed at a depth of approximately 713 metres, intercepted distinct styles of mineralisation. At around 184 metres, a fault-bound interval of iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) style mineralisation was encountered in a brecciated diorite, displaying visible chalcopyrite. From 451 metres onward, the drill intersected a porphyry-style mineral system with additional chalcopyrite mineralisation, and at 620 metres, visible gold was observed within feldspathic altered diorite, adding further interest to the project. The exploration program is part of an overall 2,500-metre drilling campaign designed to validate targets identified through geophysical and geochemical surveys. These targets harness the potential of both IOCG and porphyry copper systems in a region that benefits from excellent infrastructure and proximity to major copper processing facilities. A second drill hole is set to commence approximately 200 metres west of the first, with the intention of further delineating the potential resource. Following this phase, the drilling rig and team are scheduled to mobilise to another strategic project in the coastal belt of Peru. Market sentiment regarding the news may lean bullish among investors. The early intersection of two significant mineralisation styles, visible chalcopyrite, and even traces of gold suggest a high potential for a significant copper-gold discovery. The strategic location and robust infrastructure in the region further add to the optimistic outlook. However, cautious sentiment also exists, as these are preliminary visual estimates pending laboratory assays expected in July and August 2025. The true grade and extent of the mineralisation remain to be verified through further drilling and detailed analysis, underscoring the inherent risks of early-stage exploration.
