Pioneer Lithium Ltd has completed all phases of an extensive soil and weathered regolith sampling program at its fully owned Skull Creek Uranium Project in Colorado, USA. The field program, conducted in two phases, saw a total of 848 samples collected on a nominal 80 × 40‐metre grid across three distinct project blocks. Initial orientational sampling, which involved roughly 100 samples across targeted sites where previous rock chip assays had indicated high-grade uranium values, confirmed that the immature soil cover was unsuitable for consistent sampling. In response, phase two involved hand-digging to sample directly from the weathered basement, resulting in 748 new samples sent for multi-element analysis at an independent laboratory.
Radiometric measurements, recorded at the base of each sample pit with the RC-102 detector, have revealed extensive coherent zones of anomalous radioactivity along a 17-kilometre strike. Notable targets include two zones in the western block near Countyline—with one anomaly measuring approximately 1,040 by 240 metres—and significant anomalies in the central block around Blue Mountain and Skyline, where a 1-kilometre stretch of elevated readings now underpins previous rock chip results as high as 1,240 ppm U3O8 in the Sego Sandstone. An additional, smaller anomalous area is also identified in the eastern block near Railroad. These radiometric findings are intended to guide further geochemical assessments once chemical assay data confirms uranium content and clarifies primary versus disseminated mineralisation.
The technical work at Skull Creek is being closely monitored in light of the renewed US policy emphasis on domestic uranium production, an initiative seen as a potential driver for demand in the domestic market. With drill permit applications underway and additional geological mapping planned by the Bigrock Exploration team, Pioneer Lithium Ltd is positioning itself to advance its understanding of what could become a significant uranium asset in a Tier-1 jurisdiction.
