Pioneer Lithium Ltd has completed Phase 1 soil sampling at its Colorado uranium project, uncovering promising targets for upcoming drilling. With renewed U.S. focus on domestic uranium, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on growing demand in the nuclear fuel sector.
Pioneer Lithium Limited has completed the first phase of a two-phase soil sampling program at its 100% owned Skull Creek Uranium Project in Colorado, USA. The initial phase validated a refined geochemical sampling technique with 94 soil samples and two rock chip samples collected across three prominent prospect areas – County Line, Blue Mountain, and Skyline – on a 20m x 80m grid. Previous work in these areas had recorded uranium rock chip grades as high as 1,240 ppm U3O8, underscoring the significant mineralisation potential of the Sego Sandstone and Carbonaceous Shales.
The Phase 1 initiative was designed to test the method’s effectiveness in detecting uranium mineralisation that may be concealed by shallow soil cover. With the program now confirmed as effective, Pioneer Lithium Limited plans to swiftly transition into Phase 2, which will extend sampling along the approximately 17 km strike of the mineralised Sego Sandstone. This next phase is aimed at identifying additional drill-ready targets for the company’s inaugural drilling campaign.
The announcement comes amid growing momentum in the United States for domestic uranium production. Recent policy moves, including executive orders signed on 23 May 2025 under President Trump, bolster efforts to increase domestic nuclear fuel production and reduce reliance on imported uranium, particularly from Russia. Pioneer Lithium Limited is well positioned to benefit from these geopolitical developments, leveraging both technical progress and renewed US policy support to advance its project in a Tier-1 jurisdiction.
