Perpetual Resources Ltd has identified a significant high-grade lithium soil anomaly in Brazil’s Lithium Valley. The expanded 1.4 km corridor enhances drill target potential, with a maiden reverse circulation drilling campaign scheduled to commence in early June 2025.
Perpetual Resources Limited has reported a significant advance at its Igrejinha Project in Brazil’s Lithium Valley. The company’s recent campaign involved approximately 220 soil and auger samples collected along high‐priority zones, which have delineated a broad lithium-in-soil anomaly that stretches over 1.4 kilometers. Robust geochemical results, including peak values of 577 parts per million lithium oxide (Li₂O), 168 ppm caesium, and 1,029 ppm tungsten, support previous surface findings from rock chip sampling that recorded lithium values exceeding 7% Li₂O. In addition, a new lithium target—the South East (SE) Anomaly—has emerged approximately 2.3 km from the main pegmatite, with soil samples showing lithium oxide values over 400 ppm.
The refined geological model, reinforced by multispectral mapping, field observations, and geochemical analysis, confirms a continuous and high-grade lithium-bearing corridor. These promising indicators have been integrated into the upcoming maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, which is scheduled to commence with a 1,500-meter campaign in early June 2025 following advanced site preparation and finalised drill rig logistics through ServDrill Brazil. The technical approach, including systematic soil sampling with grid spacing and strict quality control measures, provides confidence in the drill targeting and future resource appraisal.
The detailed technical report also outlines stringent adherence to industry standards and JORC Code protocols. It covers the precise sampling techniques, quality control of laboratory assays, and thorough documentation of geochemical data. While the results represent early exploration steps, the robust dataset and detailed field mapping offer significant assurances regarding the scale and continuity of the mineralisation.
There is optimism among market watchers about these developments. Bullish sentiment focuses on the extended high-grade lithium anomaly and the identification of a new target within a corridor bordered by notable established players, indicating robust growth potential. The upcoming drilling program is seen as a critical next step in unlocking value and could lead to a substantial resource upgrade.
Conversely, a cautious view highlights that these findings are based on early-stage soil sampling results and that the maiden drilling campaign remains to be completed. Uncertainties regarding subsurface continuity and actual drill intercepts mean that further confirmation is required before investors can be confident about commercial viability.
Overall, the announcement from Perpetual Resources Limited positions the company at the forefront of lithium exploration in a region known for its strategic importance to new energy requirements, bolstered by compelling geochemical data and a clear operational timeline as it moves into drilling mode.
