Orpheus Uranium Limited has launched an exploration campaign at Mt Douglas in the Northern Territory. Backed by an NTGS grant, the company is integrating high-resolution gravity surveys with field reconnaissance to pinpoint unconformity-style uranium targets for future drilling opportunities.

Orpheus Uranium Limited has initiated an on-ground exploration campaign at its Mt Douglas project in the Northern Territory, targeting unconformity-style uranium mineralisation. The programme aims to delineate high-priority drill-ready targets by integrating geological reconnaissance, heritage clearance surveys, targeted trenching, and a new high-resolution gravity survey scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2025. The technical approach builds on well-established geological models that compare favorably with successful deposits in the Alligator Rivers Province, particularly the Thunderball deposit. The initiative is bolstered by approximately AUD 80,000 received as co-funding from the Northern Territory Government under its Innovative Targeting Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations program. This grant will support the high-resolution gravity survey, a vital tool given that the unconformity-style uranium systems in the region typically lack distinct conductive geophysical signals. Combined with legacy datasets and newly acquired gravity data, the exploration campaign is set to pinpoint promising structural and alteration zones near the sediment-basement unconformity. With an approved Mining Management Plan and corresponding regulatory authorisation in place, Orpheus Uranium Limited is well-positioned to advance into drilling and other advanced-stage exploration activities. Chief Executive Officer Clinton Dubieniecki highlighted the importance of timely fieldwork and the integration of emerging geophysical data which will drive the definition of high-priority targets. The approach is based on a proven model, reflecting careful application of technical indicators and geological reasoning. Bullish sentiment arises from the company’s robust engagement with government funding, streamlined permitting, and the application of advanced geophysical techniques that enhance the probability of identifying economically viable uranium deposits. Furthermore, the direct comparison to established unconformity-style systems lends credence to the project’s potential. On the bearish side, however, the inherent risks associated with early-stage exploration remain, including the uncertainties of geophysical interpretations and fluctuations in commodity markets that could adversely impact future funding, execution, and eventual project economics. By systematically leveraging technical surveys and robust exploration methodologies, Orpheus Uranium Limited is taking significant steps toward confirming its resource potential at Mt Douglas amidst the evolving global uranium market.
