Orbminco Limited has initiated geophysical surveys at its Bronze Fox Copper-Gold project in Mongolia, setting the stage for Q3 2025 diamond-core drilling. The exploration targets high-grade extensions at West Kasulu and Shuteen North within a promising copper-gold province.
Orbminco Limited has initiated the second phase of its 2025 field programme at the Bronze Fox Copper-Gold Project in Mongolia’s Southern Gobi region. The company has begun detailed Induced Polarisation (IP) surveys using a pole-dipole configuration along with ground gravity surveys. These surveys are intended to refine the final drill hole design ahead of a planned diamond core drilling programme scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. The drilling will target a high-grade copper-gold extension structure at the West Kasulu prospect and will also assess the extensive sub-cropping copper mineralisation recorded at the undrilled Shuteen North prospect.
The Bronze Fox Project covers approximately 175 square kilometers in an area recognized as a world-class copper-gold province. This region has seen significant interest, highlighted by major developments such as the Oyu Tolgoi mine and strong corporate activities in neighboring projects. Orbminco Limited, the only remaining independent foreign-listed explorer with an interest in a major copper-gold project in the Southern Gobi, is well positioned to capitalize on this renewed focus. Technical indicators, including confirmed high-grade sampling results at West Kasulu and extensive mineral alteration mapping at Shuteen North, underpin the company’s anticipation of uncovering a significant porphyry system with potential sulphide mineralisation.
The survey data gathered from the IP and gravity methods are expected to reveal key structural and lithological boundaries, vital for interpreting mineralized fluid conduits and planning an effective drilling strategy. Orbminco Limited also retains the option to earn up to an 80% interest in the Bronze Fox Project from its partner, subject to an expenditure of US$4 million over five years, with the right to increase to a 100% interest. Company leadership expressed optimism regarding the project, noting that exploration initiatives in Mongolia are receiving heightened attention amid global supply concerns for copper.
The news presents a bullish sentiment with strong exploration results and a proactive approach to drilling that could unlock substantial copper-gold resources. For investors, the technical data coupled with the project’s strategic location in a proven mineral province are positive indicators of future potential. Conversely, a bearish view might cite the inherent risks involved in early-stage exploration, including interpretation uncertainties and the challenges of translating exploration findings into economic production. Market volatility and continued global shifts in commodity prices also present potential headwinds that cautious investors should consider.
