Infini Resources Limited has unveiled new developments at its fully owned Portland Creek Uranium Project, signaling a promising step forward in the search for a large-scale uranium system. The company has engaged additional structural geology and uranium exploration specialists to refine its exploration model ahead of a planned Phase 2 diamond drill program set to commence in the third quarter of 2025. This fast-tracked review integrates data from its recent Phase 1 drilling, comprehensive soil sampling, and UAV magnetic surveys, with the aim of finalizing all drill plans by July 2025.
The announcement highlights exceptionally high uranium-in-soil anomalies recorded over a six-kilometer corridor, including a notable peak reading of 74,997 ppm (approximately 7.5% U₃O₈) at the Falls Lake Prospect. Despite promising Phase 1 results, the primary structural targets—believed to potentially host a shear-dominated uranium system—remain largely untested due to the subparallel orientation of the initial drillholes relative to key fault structures. Experts believe these geological indicators, coupled with supportive geochemical and geophysical data such as radon gas anomalies, radiometrics, and pathfinder elements, point to the possibility of encountering a high-grade primary uranium orebody.
Veteran exploration geologist Mark Couzens, who brings over 15 years of uranium-specific experience, commented on the significance of the high soil values and hydrothermal alteration zones, emphasizing that such elevated readings may suggest the presence of a substantive uranium deposit near the surface. This expert insight reinforces the need to re-evaluate the exploration model used in Phase 1 drilling, as alternative deposit styles could be considered alongside the initially proposed shear-hosted system.
