Hillgrove Resources Limited’s latest MT survey at the Kanmantoo deposit reveals promising deep and southward extensions of conductive zones linked to copper-gold mineralisation. Hillgrove Resources Limited has released new results from a recent magnetotelluric (MT) survey conducted over the Kanmantoo exploration lease. The survey, which was carried out by Fleet Space Technologies, encompassed the southern and eastern margins of the deposit and has revealed significant conductive zones. One of the key findings is the presence of a high conductivity zone that extends to depths exceeding 2 kilometers below the surface and continues south of the currently known Emily Star deposit. Additionally, a steep, highly conductive zone beneath the established mineralisation aligns well with the dip observed in the underground mine, reinforcing the geological model derived from previous surveys.
The new data, acquired using both MT and audio-frequency MT technologies, integrates recent 3D survey results with earlier 2D measurements from 2018/2019 and 2023. This integrated approach has allowed the company to build a robust deposit-scale model that validates the continuity and geometry of the alteration corridor. The survey’s results are set to shape the upcoming drilling program, with initial tests planned for September 2025 aimed at targeting the depth extensions in the Emily Star area. Currently, that area is noted for its resource of 2.6 million tonnes grading 0.77% copper and 0.08 g/t gold, and the forthcoming drilling is expected to further delineate and potentially expand this resource.
