Haranga Resources Limited is launching its maiden 2,000m aircore drilling program at the fully owned Ibel South Gold Permit in Senegal. The initiative aims to test high-grade gold anomalies identified through termite mound surveys and recent artisanal mining activity in a well-established gold region.

Haranga Resources Limited has announced that it will launch its maiden drilling program at the Ibel South Gold Permit in southeast Senegal, targeting high-grade termite mound gold anomalies identified during previous geochemical surveys. The drilling campaign, scheduled to start in July 2025 following procurement and final regulatory approvals, marks an important step in testing gold mineralization on a permit fully owned by the company. The program will use Aircore drilling to undertake 2,000 metres of drilling spread across three NW-SE oriented lines. Each line, ranging from 300 to 400 metres in length, will include holes drilled at a 60° angle toward the northwest, reaching depths of up to approximately 50 metres. This technical approach is designed to intersect regional structural trends in the Birimian volcano-sedimentary rocks—a geological setting known to host gold deposits in southeastern Senegal. Previous termite mound sampling campaigns in the area returned promising gold grades, with some assays reaching as high as 643 parts per billion. In addition to selecting FTE Drilling (Forage Technique Eau) through Senegal’s CNSCL tendering process to conduct the work, Haranga has emphasized robust sampling and assay protocols. On-site samples will be split, composited, and sent for fire assay gold analysis at a certified laboratory, while portable XRF analyzers will be used to scan for multi-element anomalies, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of the exploration targets. Drilling operations are expected to be completed in five days using a dual-shift, day and night schedule. The Ibel South Gold Project lies within a prolific gold mining region and is strategically located near established mines, enhancing its potential significance within the company’s portfolio. The program is budgeted as a low-cost exercise within a recent capital raising, running alongside the drill program at the Lincoln Gold Project in California. Given the near all time high levels in gold prices, the initiative could provide an attractive near-term catalyst for investors interested in exploration upside. From a market sentiment perspective, the news carries a bullish tone given the positive geochemical indicators, the company’s experienced management, and the strategic positioning of the project near established mining operations. However, some caution remains due to inherent exploration risks, potential delays in regulatory approvals, and uncertainties surrounding commodity price fluctuations. The balance between promising exploration targets and these operational risks will be key for beginner traders monitoring the developments in Haranga Resources Limited.
