Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd concludes a successful first drilling program at its Mulwarrie Project and shifts rigs to accelerate exploration at the Comet Vale Project—poised to boost high-grade gold resource estimates and fuel promising growth opportunities for the company.
Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd has issued an update on work at its Mulwarrie and Comet Vale projects, detailing significant progress in both areas. At Mulwarrie, the maiden drilling program has been completed with rigs demobilised from the site and reassigned to Comet Vale. Early intercepts at Mulwarrie, which include thick high-grade down-dip results and the discovery of parallel lodes, have paved the way for an upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate update in Q3 that the company expects will substantially increase both the contained ounces and grade over the previous estimate of 78,700 ounces at 2.8 g/t gold.
At the Comet Vale project, operations have been accelerated by the redeployment of drilling rigs from Mulwarrie. Recent results extend the high-grade gold mineralisation at Sovereign North by 100 meters along strike, with a notable intercept of 8 meters at 5.1 g/t gold from 80 meters downhole. Multiple rigs are active, including three diamond rigs targeting the down-dip extension at the Lakeview prospect, and additional rigs are set to explore the Silverback trend and further extend the Sovereign discovery. Historical production figures and existing resource estimates lend a promising context to these exploration efforts, with the project located near several operational mills and significant infrastructure.
The company is also focusing on speeding up assay turnaround by enhancing laboratory capacity, while metallurgical testwork, detailed mapping, and geophysical surveys are underway to refine and rank new drilling targets. This coordinated exploration approach not only ensures robust quality control through industry-standard sampling and assay techniques but also underpins the company’s confidence in a significant upgrade of resource estimates in the near term.
Market sentiment can be divided between bullish and bearish views. On the bullish side, investors may be encouraged by the strong technical results and strategic repositioning of drilling resources, which have already produced encouraging high-grade intercepts and extended established mineralisation zones. The proximity of both projects to key processing facilities and the robust quality assurance protocols further enhance confidence in future resource expansion. Conversely, a bearish perspective might urge caution due to the inherent uncertainties of early-stage exploration, the reliance on forthcoming assay results and resource updates to validate the anticipated improvements, and potential delays that could influence short-term market performance.
