Encounter Resources Limited has announced promising assay results from its latest diamond drilling campaign at the Aileron project in the West Arunta region of Western Australia. The drilling, focused on a niobium-dominant carbonatite system at the Crean prospect, has revealed outstanding high-grade rare earth element (REE) and niobium intercepts. In one drillhole, labeled EAL474a, a 49.3‐meter interval returned a composite of 7.3 meters at 6.3% total rare earth oxides (TREO) alongside 8.1% Nb₂O₅. This strengthens the view that the West Arunta is one of Australia’s most prospective REE provinces, with the mineralisation showing substantial heavy REE content in Dysprosium and Terbium—elements critical to defense, electric vehicle, and renewables markets. The announcement detailed that the Crean deposit, located along the Elephant Island Fault, exhibits REE grades that are nearly double those of nearby prospects. Previous drilling results have also underscored the robust nature of the carbonatite systems, with multiple intersections reported over various intervals. A significant inferred resource base remains in place at the Aileron project, reported at about 19.2 million tonnes with 1.74% Nb₂O₅ and 0.65% TREO. Two rigs—a diamond drill and an aircore rig—continue to operate on site, with additional assay results expected in early September 2025 to further inform the project’s potential. The technical details underpinning the announcement demonstrate Encounter Resources Limited’s systematic approach to exploration. The drilled intercepts were recorded using industry-standard whole core sampling, with meticulous QA/QC procedures implemented throughout the process.
