Critical Resources Limited has secured approvals to launch its maiden Reverse Circulation drill program at the Amoco Project in Armidale, NSW. Early soil assay results and high-grade rock samples highlight significant gold, antimony, and silver potential, reinforcing optimism for further value creation.
Critical Resources Limited has received statutory approvals from the New South Wales Resources Regulator to commence a maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at its Amoco Gold-Antimony Project in the Armidale region of New South Wales. The company has secured an Assessable Prospecting Operation permit along with a Land Access Agreement, paving the way for the upcoming drilling activities set to start in the second half of September. The drilling program follows a comprehensive exploration phase that included field mapping and rock sampling, where high-grade mineralisation was confirmed.
Preliminary assays from the site have highlighted promising targets, with rock chip samples returning gold values of up to 17.9 grams per tonne, antimony levels of 0.53 percent, and silver values as high as 80 grams per tonne. The identified targets align along interpreted structural corridors, which have also attracted attention due to their proximity to other significant antimony and gold projects in the region. In mid-July, the company completed a soil-geochemistry program over key areas, with assay results expected in early September to further refine drill targeting. With a confirmed drilling contractor, preparations including the construction of a drill pad and access track are set to commence as soon as the final drilling design is completed.
The company’s strategy at Amoco benefits from a strong regional setting, with other high-profile projects located nearby. This exploration phase is supported by a revised geological model that suggests a wider-scale mineralisation zone along multiple, closely spaced faults that extend for hundreds of metres horizontally and up to several kilometres vertically. In addition to advancing the Amoco project, Critical Resources Limited is progressing its exploration program at the Mayview Antimony-Gold Project, for which discussions with regulators and landowners are underway.
The positive regulatory milestone and strong initial assay data contribute to an overall bullish sentiment. Supporters point to the robust exploration results, enhanced geological understanding, and strategic proximity to other successful projects as indicators of potential value uplift. On the bearish side, skeptics could note that the project is still in its early drilling phase, with key geochemistry results pending and inherent risks associated with transitioning from exploration to production. Each perspective underlines the need for careful monitoring as the company moves into its next phase.
