Bayan Mining and Minerals Limited has launched REE exploration at its California Desert Star Project, strategically located near a world-class rare earth deposit. The field program features targeted sampling and mapping to guide future expansion, promising potential value for emerging traders.

Bayan Mining and Minerals Limited has embarked on a new exploration phase at its Desert Star Project in California’s Mojave Desert. The company has launched initial fieldwork that involves systematic geological mapping and the collection of approximately 100 rock chip, soil, and heavy mineral samples. This early-stage evaluation is designed to target rare earth element (REE) potential by identifying key mineralogical indicators such as radiometric anomalies in potassium, thorium, and uranium, which align with the presence of carbonatite-related lithologies and alkaline intrusives. The project is strategically located just 4.5 kilometers northeast of a world-class REE operation, reinforcing the exploration target’s potential. The Desert Star Project spans 6 square kilometers of federal lode claims and benefits from accessible infrastructure including paved roads, high-voltage transmission lines, and a nearby rail connection. Data from historical USGS airborne radiometric surveys support the company’s focus on high-priority zones, and samples collected in this phase are set to be analyzed at the ALS Laboratory in Reno, with results expected within three to four weeks. Executive Director Fadi Diab expressed enthusiasm over the progress, highlighting that the fieldwork will provide critical geochemical and structural insights needed to refine future exploration plans. Pending positive assay results, the company plans to advance to a more detailed exploration phase that could include additional mapping, focused sampling, and potential drilling to further evaluate the mineralization. From a sentiment perspective, the announcement carries bullish potential. The company’s proximity to a proven, high-grade REE deposit and the identification of promising radiometric and lithological indicators suggest a solid foundation for further exploration. However, the early-stage nature of the work introduces caution; the results remain subject to the inherent uncertainties of mineral exploration, and significant advancement will depend on forthcoming assay outcomes and further geochemical validation.
