Astute Metals NL announced promising diamond drilling results at its Red Mountain Lithium Project in the USA, with drill-hole RMDD005 intersecting two lithium-rich zones beneath alluvial cover. The findings strengthen the geological model, indicating significant potential, with further assay results expected soon.
Astute Metals NL has reported encouraging diamond drilling results from its Red Mountain Lithium Project in Nevada, USA. The latest drill-hole (RMDD005) intercepted two distinct zones of lithium mineralisation beneath alluvial cover, reinforcing the Company’s existing geological model and bolstering confidence in the Exploration Target previously announced in February 2025. The first intersection spanned 80.8 meters from 12.2 meters downhole, averaging 860 ppm lithium, and included a higher grade segment of 9.1 meters averaging about 1,350 ppm lithium. A second, separate intersection delivered 15.9 meters averaging 955 ppm lithium from 233.2 meters to the end of the hole, with an internal high-grade interval of 8.3 meters averaging around 1,210 ppm lithium.
The RMDD005 drill-hole is notable as the first to test ‘blind’ lithium mineralisation under significant alluvial gravel cover, a clear validation of Astute Metals NL’s interpretation of the project’s geological framework. The finding suggests potential continuity in mineralisation, while the results from the central part of the project hint that the northern part may host even higher grade zones. The Company is now awaiting assay results from four additional diamond drill-holes conducted as part of the ongoing exploration campaign, with these results expected later this financial year to help refine future drilling programs.
Market observers may view the news with bullish sentiment as it strengthens the geological confidence ahead of the planned maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate later in the year and the potential for significant lithium discovery over a strike length of almost 6 kilometers. The positive drill intersections and high leachability test results support the scalability of the project. On the bearish side, some investors might remain cautious given that the current grades, while promising, are considered moderate in certain sections; further drilling and additional assay confirmations will be critical to reduce exploration risk and fully delineate the resource.
